An O1A and an O1B visa are two different types of temporary working visas for foreign workers who possess extraordinary ability or talent in their respective fields. The O1A visa is designed for individuals with an extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, athletics, business or the arts. This includes those working as actors, models, writers, directors and producers in the entertainment industry. On the other hand, the O1B visa is specifically for those who have a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in motion picture or television production.

But there are some key differences between these two o1 visas. The first difference (and perhaps most important) is that applicants seeking either visa must demonstrate that they have achieved a level of expertise far above that which is ordinarily encountered in their field! They must also provide evidence of sustained national or international acclaim and recognition for their achievements. Additionally, each applicant must show proof of imminent work related to their area of expertise.

Moreover, while both o1 visas require applicants to demonstrate extraordinary abilities in their particular field; the criteria for demonstrating such abilities differs between them! For example: An individual applying for an O1A visa must meet 3 out-of-5 criteria set by USCIS - including any combination of awards received from organizations within their field; professional memberships; published material about them; leading role/significant contributions to distinguished organizations; and high salary compared to others in similar roles. However, someone applying for an O1B visa would need to provide at least three out-of-six criteria set by USCIS - including national/international prizes/awards; lead/critical role on productions with distinguished reputations; authorship/scholarly works; original scientific contributions etc.

Furthermore, another major difference between these two visas is that while both require a job offer from a US employer as part of application process - the length of time allowed under each varies greatly! Whereas applicants granted an O1A can stay up to three years (with possibility extensions), those granted an O1B can remain only one year (again with possibility extension). Overall though, it's clear that both types of the o1 visa serve distinct purposes but require no less than excellence from its applicants!
